IF...
As most of you probably already know, I didn't pass the exam. But I don't feel disappointed by it. Well maybe a little bit, but more for my family than for myself. They had such a blind faith in that I was going to pass it, that failing hurts a little. But just a little.

I could start bitching and complaining about the exam, and how unfair they were with me, but to tell you the truth I can't help but feel that things have taken a turn for the best.

As Rudyard Kipling said:

IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise: If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Right now the sky is the limit. I won't miss this chance, trust me ;-).

I just dropped by today to learn that you didn't suceed in your exam. I'm really really sorry. It is especially painful when you have spent much of your time with this aim in mind.

I'm really sorry about my last comment on your blog as well. You may think that I got out of my mind. But what I've experienced and am still experiencing is so beautiful and painful that I sometimes can't bear it. I met my soul mate, my true friend, my supporter this summer and I'm about to lose him forever due to a brain tumour. He's a Belgian translator who speaks both English and Arabic. Hence I know some words and sentences in Arabic now. So, I deserve to be out of my mind sometimes, otherwise the pain would be unbearable.

Anyway, I wish you all the best in the near future. You'll get your goal, beyond all doubt, and must not regret this fall. My recent experiences are changing me to the extent that I'm far from the person I was a couple of years ago.

Hugs,

Estefanía Miranda.

Thanks for your support Estefania. Actually, right now I feel very good. It's like for the first time in my life being able to choose whatever I want for my future.

As for your previous comment, you don't need to apologise at all. If I didn't reply to it, it was because I honestly didn't know who had written it (actually I thought of you, but the arabic bits made me think otherwise).

Anyway, I'm sorry to hear about your friend. What you and him are going through must be really, really horrible. My best positive thoughts for him, I hope he gets better.

As for the rest, is always good hearing from you girl, so feel free to call me whenever you want or whatever. Take care!!! And I wish you the best of lucks!!!

No solution at all. But I'm learning a lot from this experience. It's hard when you know that anyone who you really care about has a life expectancy between 6-12 months. The only thing you can do is support him as much as you can and try to provide him with unforgettable happy moments. But you see how his voice, strength and clarity of mind is fading away due to horrendous headaches and seizures.

Thanks a lot. And yes, it is great when you control your own life and future! Come to Lanzarote any time you wish, you'll be warmly welcome here.
